Orange County Employment Lawyer - Robert A. Odell

Robert A. Odell

After earning his undergraduate degree from USC, Robert attended Chapman University School of Law where he first clerked for the Homicide Unit of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. During his clerkship with the D.A., Robert was given the opportunity to assist some of the Nation’s best criminal prosecutors in numerous high-profile murder trials and investigations – most notably in the prosecution of Jason Russell Richardson, the “Home Depot Killer,” who was convicted and became the first Orange County criminal sentenced to death since 2007. Robert credits his time with the District Attorney as the foundation for his love of trial practice and his desire to obtain justice for those who have been wronged.

Soon after, Robert began to immerse himself in trial competition as a member of Chapman’s prominent Mock Trial Honor Board, winning several awards in both regional and national mock trial competitions all over the country. Robert’s skill was also recognized by one of Orange County’s most distinguished judges after he was designated a top talent in the courtroom, earning him the highest overall grade in Chapman’s Trial Practice course and a CALI Excellence for the Future Award.

Robert began his involvement with employment law during his clerkship for the Law Offices of Tamara S. Freeze where he was able to gain invaluable experience by successfully litigating many complex harassment, discrimination and wrongful termination cases in both LA and Orange County courts.

Shortly after, Robert came together with his mentor, Tamara Freeze, and fellow Chapman Law alumni, Allison Lin, to form Workplace Justice Advocates, a Professional Law Corporation which currently represents employees on a contingency basis in a broad spectrum of employment matters including harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination and wage and hour disputes.

In his spare time, Robert enjoys college football, indoor rowing and discovering some of Southern California’s best food spots with his wife, Sadaf Nejat, who is also a USC and Chapman Law Alumni.
